GearWorks Interactive, a Danish development company, announced the start of development of one of their most ambitious projects to date, titled 1864 Game. The game is set during the Second Schleswig War in 1864, which will deal with the horrors of war while maintaining historical accuracy. 1864 Game will be released in conjuction with major TV productions.

In 1864 Game, players will experience stories and scenes that showcase human empathy. The hybrid of adventure and casual gaming, the game itself will be story-driven, with four chapters to allow the player to experience the war from four different viewpoints, ranging from an infantry soldier, a Red Cross envoy, a journalist and a general.

Through ethical dilemmas we want to challenge the player with different choices and thereby create unique game experiences” Benjamin Salqvist, CEO of GearWorks, explains. Players will make strategic choices and take part in action-packed scenes and reflective moments.

Presented in an art-noir graphic novel style, 1864 Game is meant to project a unique experience of combining history, gaming and interactive TV. Currently 1864 Game is still in development and does not have a release date set of this time. For more information, visit the official site at Gear Works' website here: LINK
